Blues trio The Unusual Suspects have released their first mini album.

Blues trio The Unusual Suspects have released their first mini album.

Under Suspicion contains six tracks. Two have been written by singer and guitarist Robert Haynes of Balderton. They are Just One Day and I Don’t Want To Do This Thing.

The four other tracks are World War Blues by Eric Bibb, Magnolia by J. J. Cale, Knocking On Heaven’s Door by Bob Dylan and Down To The Doctor’s by Mickey Jupp.

The other band members are singer and bassist Ian Dobbs of Newark and saxophonist Darren Riley of Balderton.

Under Suspicion was recorded last year at Forefront Productions Ltd in Balderton. The recording studio is run by David Hughes but his son, Mark, produced the mini album for The Unusual Suspects.

Darren said: “This is the first CD we have done but it has taken us until now to release it. At the moment it is only available from us and at our gigs.”

The band, who have been together for three years, perform their own blues, folk and rhythm and blues music as well as covers.

Their next gig is at The Navigation, Millgate, Newark, on May 3. They have been writing new material and will be presenting a new set.
